In a land before the Spice Girls – and after – Bananarama became the most successful British girl group of all-time with 32 Top 50 hit singles between 1982 and 2009. Formed as a trio in London 1980, featuring Sara Dallin, Keren Woodward and Siobhan Fahey, they first came to fame when working with Fun Boy Three before becoming one of the biggest groups of the 1980s in their own right. Backstage Pass captures the original trio, as well as Sara and Keren with Jacquie O’Sullivan, who replaced Siobhan in 1988, before she felt three years later to leave Bananarama as a still successful duo. Featuring on the Band Aid, Comic Relief and Ferry Aid singles, Bananarama were an indispensable part of the British pop scene.
