ACDC

about

the collection

Such is the traditional loyalty of the rock audience that very few bands survive the loss of their lead singer, let alone go on to record one of the biggest albums in music history. That, though, is the AC/DC story. The Australian band had begun to establish themselves as one of Europe’s biggest live acts in the late 1970s, ‘Highway To Hell’ being their big breakthrough. Tragically, that was soon followed by the death of frontman Bon Scott in early 1980, but the band decided to carry on, recruited Brian Johnson as their new singer and made ‘Back In Black’, which has gone on to sell around 50million copies worldwide. These Backstage Pass photos capture the band on and off stage, with both Scott and Johnson at the microphone, both of them backed by the demonic schoolboy guitarist Angus Young, churning out the heavy metal riffs that fill stadia around the world.
